Mentallys Becomes a University Research Spin-Off Company

Mentallys is now a company.
Born from the research conducted by Stéphane Vial at the Université du Québec à Montréal and the Research Centre of the Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal (a facility of Santé Québec Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Universitaire), the Mentallys platform is now developed and operated by Mentallys Inc., a federally incorporated company (also registered in the province of Québec under the french name Solutions Mentallys).
This change in status is not an end in itself, it is a means to an end. Delivering a high-quality digital mental health service to the public, maintaining it, and continuously improving it over time requires an organization capable of sustaining that commitment year after year. Becoming a company gives us that capacity.
Our team, values, and mission remain unchanged: to improve mental health care pathways by drawing on real-world practice and research through codesign and design. Our core principles remain the same as well: no advertising, no user tracking, and no monetization of personal data.
Mentallys Inc. is a company dedicated to the design, development, operation, and dissemination of digital mental health solutions. Its founder and CEO is Stéphane Vial, who continues to serve as a professor and researcher alongside his entrepreneurial role. The company’s headquarters are located at the World Trade Centre Montréal.
